When it comes to raising their arm, though, the Revoltech can do that just fine thanks to its shoulder's joint.Īs for the knee, the Microman's is more articulated to mimic human's movements properly.īy bending their forearm to the max, they can both touch their chins, also if the Microman's can do it more deeply:īut when you try to do this, the Revoltech's stops midway. The Microman, as you see, can do that naturally thanks to its shoulder's articulation: The same juction on the Revoltech spreads its arm open. You can rotate her hands to give the impression, though. The Microman uses that to rotate its arm. The difference in movement are quite obvious:īoth figures show a juction there, at the top of their arm despite the similar location, they do different things. Microman has of course more space for action, while Revoltech's is more "costricted" to give it a smoother design. Obviously the fully articulated bust gives to the Microman lots of extra freedom in her movements, and her poses look more natural and plausible the articulations are also more flexible than the sturdy Revoltech's, and make less resistance when you try to pose the figure.Īs for the knees, they rotate the same just fine, but Microman's finest articulation makes the leg bend more and more naturally. Since both figures can't fully rotate their thighs horizzontally, they feature a special junction to give the impression that they can do it: the Revoltech has that in the middle of her thigh, the Microman's is closer to the knee. Her bust is articulated in three points, and her knees show a complex structure too. The first thing that you notice is how the Microman is way more articulated than her counterparts.
#MICROMAN EVANGELION SERIES#
Since the point of the post is comparing her to other popular action figures, I picked the Ayanami Rei Revoltech - Fräulein Series No. The girl comes with an abundant set of hands, the exclusive base and some random (ugly _ ) weapons that is not portrayed in the pic for the sake of good taste: Despite the tiny size, it's quite detailed and well-rendered. I must say that I was positively impressed by the painting of Rei's face.

The girl that I'm about to torture is the cute Rei Ayanami Microman (Plug-suit Version) by Takara (TOMY). I'm quite positive that when talking about action figures, Micromans are definitely the most evoluted, even if we're talking about a product that was conceived in 1974 (also if the structure of the figure that I'm about to review now was actually first released in 2004, the day Microlady, the female counterpart of the popular toy, was born). Long story short, the item that I came to love the most is the Microman XD I didn't pay much attention to them before, but I recently got a hold of some of them for my Rei Ayanami collection- My main objective was the Figma and that Customa P thing (seriously Volks, how can you sell those things for 7000 yen ò_o ? You're nothing but a bunch of thieves!), but since I found a cheap Microman on Rakuten I threw that in the bunch too. Hello everyone! I wanna debut on this blog thing with a caustic post about action figures.
